La Maison Départementale de l'Autonomie est en France un groupement d’intérêt public présent dans les départements, qui a vocation à apporter le même service au bénéfice de l’ensemble des personnes requérant une aide à l’autonomie quels que soient leur âge, l’origine et la nature de leur déficience.
La MDA est intégrée dans une organisation globale en charge de la politique départementale en faveur des personnes handicapées et des personnes âgées.

According to the World Health Organisation 285 million people worldwide are visually impaired, of which 65% is 50 years or older. Due to an aging population in the more developed nations, the prevalence of visual impairment increases rapidly.

The Visual Functioning Questionnaire (VFQ-25) is one of the most widely used measures of vision-related quality of life. However, the questionnaire does not meet some psychometric quality criteria. The objectives of this study were first to obtain the factor structure of the VFQ-25, and second, to obtain interval scales by Rasch analysis.
